Embracing Failure

In case you're wondering, this is what failed empanada dough looks like. Our failures define us as much as, if not more than, our successes. No one will remember the dish I tried to make; they will only remember the dish I put on the table. So let's learn from our failures and utilize these moments as learning opportunities.

A Farewell to Tomatoes

The day is finally here, the final garden harvest, the final batch of tomatoes for the year. You better believe I'm going to preserve some of these so I can eat them all winter long, but first I need to enjoy all the fresh tomatoes I can!

Hashtag Hash

In general, if I can put an egg on it, I'm pretty happy (#putaneggonit). But breakfast hash makes me really happy, because it's a great way to utilize leftovers and feature seasonal ingredients! 

Pork Lard

I made pork lard! And then very quickly became obsessed with collecting fats of all kinds. This may be the moment that changes everything, or it may just be pork lard, but either way it's gonna be fun!
